The measurement of the Luttinger parameter in helical edges states

The interaction strength in the Luttinger liquid is parametrized by the Luttinger parameter K, the value, which is generally difficult to measure, since it is usually hidden in power law dependencies of observables as a function of temperature or applied bias. The proposed setup allows to measure K in a dynamical way on the basis of an electronic time-of-flight experiment. We propose this measurement in the helical edges of a 2D topological insulator, which require much lower frequency domain in order to perform the experiment.
